Hello
Hi!
I'm Guillermina Ramirez (Guille). I used to work in Mexican restaurants over a decade before, and in 2019 me and my daughter Ita (a talented young graphic designer) made up our minds to get into the restaurant business ourselves.
However, a Salvadorian delicacy (pupusas) weren’t precisely in our minds when I opened a cafe in Ridgewood (Bud & Bean) in late 2019. I was forced to make a different business from Mexican Tacos because I was surrounded by Mexican Restaurants on both sides on the block. That cafe business seemed a good solution at the time.

This is Our Story
But when sales started to -practically- petrify after the pandemic hit, we took a courageous leap of faith and decided to dive directly into the Pupusas Restaurant business; Pupusas Ridgewood was born in July 2020, right in the strongest period of the Covid 19 pandemic.
And against all odds and with a reduced menu (Pupusas only) I and Ita made our way across the pandemic and the ups and downs that any business has, even in good times.
Ita has always been key to our marketing success due to her knowledge of graphic design and how to apply it to our business. She’s the marketing force behind our success.

And our pupusa special recipe and its delicious flavor has made the rest of the job.
So, today we are proud to offer our acclaimed pupusas and now also Mexican food as well. Come and taste it for yourself…. The gossip is true: They are DELICIOUS!!
